A flexible sanding board from DSPIAE in 280 grit. It is a modeling tool for preparing surfaces, not a kit and not a part for a model. The carrier is flexible, so the board bends to the shape of a part and sands evenly on curves as well, while it is held more firmly in the hand than a loose sheet of abrasive paper.
What 280 grit means
A grit of 280 is medium coarse. It removes material noticeably, but no longer as aggressively as coarse abrasives below 200. In practice it follows coarse sanding, so that pronounced scratches are leveled out, and it prepares the surface for finer grits.
For modelers who want their sanding divided into steps rather than relying on one universal paper. The medium grit is the most used part of the process, because it does most of the leveling work while it still does not wipe away the surrounding detail as easily as a coarse abrasive.
Sanding produces fine dust, which you should not inhale, so work in a well-ventilated room. Remove the dust thoroughly from the surface before painting.
