German Grey 17ml

AK interactive German Grey 17 ml - acrylic modeling paint

German Grey is a modeling paint, not a kit. It is a very dark gray shade from the 3rd Generation Acrylics line by AK interactive, that is, a water-thinnable acrylic in a 17 ml dropper bottle. The shade matches the classic German tank gray, known as Panzergrau. The paint is heavily pigmented, covers in the first coat, dries flat and holds on plastic, resin and metal. It is thinned with water or with the manufacturer acrylic thinner, never with nitro thinner, and it goes on with a brush and with an airbrush.

Use

• German armored vehicles up to 1943: dark gray was the base shade of German tanks, self-propelled guns and vehicles. From 1943 it was replaced in the role of base finish by dark yellow (Dunkelgelb), over which green and brown camouflage was then sprayed. For the early part of the war this is therefore the main color.
• German artillery, trailers, helmets and equipment of the same period, figures and accessories.
• A substitute for black: a pure black is practically never used on a model, because it looks flat and dead and swallows detail. Panzergrau is exactly the almost-black that works in reduced scale: it reads as dark, but the detail stays visible.
• Preshading, shading and dark lines, and darkening other shades when mixing.
• With a brush and with an airbrush, once thinned to the consistency of milk, in thin coats.

Who the paint is for

Above all for builders of German vehicles of the early part of the Second World War, but also for anyone who needs a good very dark gray instead of black, for shading, for dark parts, rubber, weapons and equipment. The dropper bottle allows exact dosing when mixing.

A water-thinnable acrylic. Make sure of enough ventilation when airbrushing and protect your airways (a respirator). Keep out of the reach of children. The paint is supplied on its own: brushes, thinner and an airbrush are not included in the package.
