Grass Green is a bottled acrylic paint thinnable with water from the 3rd Generation line. The shade matches a lively grass green: it is deeper and cooler than the olive and earthy greens used on military equipment, and it therefore serves rather where the green is meant to be genuinely seen, on vegetation, on markings and on bold green fields of a finish.

Where the shade is useful

• a base under green glazes and filters, with which the shade is then subdued

Glazing with a brush

You get the most out of this shade if you use it not only as a solid color but also as a glaze. A glaze is paint thinned to a semi-transparent consistency, laid over a base that has already dried, which only shifts its tone instead of covering it. Lay it on with a soft brush in thin coats and let the paint dry between coats; on vegetation you will gain a depth over three or four passes that solid color cannot reach. On a large area always take the strokes in one direction and do not go back into a spot that has already started to set: the acrylic would tear and leave a visible edge. Shake the bottle well before work.
