Green-Brown - an AK interactive 3rd Generation acrylic paint

Green-Brown is a bottled water-thinnable acrylic paint of the 3rd Generation range. The shade stands exactly on the border of green and brown: it is neither a pure green nor a pure earth brown, but the muted transitional tone that appears when a green finish gets dusty and sun-bleached. That is what makes it usable everywhere a pure green would look too fresh and new.

Where the shade fits

• canvas covers, straps, packs and tent sections, where green turns toward brown
• transition fields between the green and brown areas of camouflage
• toning a saturated green toward earth tones so that the model does not look like a toy
• wood with a greenish cast: crates, handles, weathered planks

Brush painting and a wet palette

Acrylic on a brush dries fast, and with muted, mixed tones that matters most: as soon as the paint thickens on the palette the shade shifts too, and the next stroke no longer matches the previous one. A wet palette is therefore worth it: a layer of dampened paper keeps the paint fluid considerably longer and lets you mix a transition gradually rather than in a jump. Thin the paint with water or with an acrylic thinner drop by drop and apply it in two or three thin coats instead of one heavy one; a thin coat follows the engraved lines better and does not clog the detail. Shake the bottle well before every use and wipe the thread so that the cap does not dry shut.

Who the paint is for

For modelers of military vehicles, diorama builders and anyone who likes mixing their own transitional tones. It is a bottled acrylic paint of the 3rd Generation range, not the oil paint, the spray or the lacquer range of the same brand, which are sold separately under a similar shade name and neither thin nor mix with the acrylic.

Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated area while spraying and protect your airways. Wash the brushes with water right after work, as dried acrylic will not let go of the bristles.
