A Real Colors modeling paint in a light gray shade with a warm amber cast, listed under the designation J3 of the Imperial Japanese Navy. A 17 ml bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A light gray with a warm, amber-shifted cast. The Real Colors range lists it among the Imperial Japanese Navy shades under the designation J3, and the description amber gray appears directly in the name. The warm tone is what matters here: against a neutral gray it looks softer on a model, and in daylight the cast is clearly visible.
On models of Japanese naval aircraft whose subject matches this shade. Check which types and which period in your build references; Japanese finishes also varied by production plant, and there is no single answer that fits every aircraft. Beyond that area, it serves anywhere you need a light gray with no cool blue cast, for instance on diorama accessories.
Mix the bottle thoroughly before use, or settled pigment will change both the tone and the coverage. Wash and degrease the parts. Light shades cover worse than dark ones, so lay down a light base first and apply the paint in several thin coats with a pause to let each set. Continuous light areas show every speck of dust and fingerprint without mercy, so handle the model by parts that will not be visible and work in a clean environment. Apply masks and masking tape before spraying and pull them off only once the paint has dried.
The package contains one 17 ml bottle. Thinner, primer, varnishes and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise. Choose the mixing ratio and tool cleaning per the manufacturer's instructions.
