Six green acrylic shades of Abteilung 502 for camouflage finishes and for vegetation on a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set gathers Deep Green, Light Green, Moss Green, Military Green, Yellow Green and Phthalo Green. The range goes from the yellow green that freshly sprouted foliage has, through moss and military green, to the deep green of needles. It is precisely this spread that tells credible vegetation from an area painted in one tone.
Military green makes up the basis of the finishes of armored vehicles and aircraft over a great part of the twentieth century and its shade shifted according to the maker, the period and the manner of maintenance. With the six tones a base color can be fine tuned, lightened on horizontal surfaces exposed to the sun and, on the contrary, darkened where light does not reach.
Foliage, moss, shrubs and grass almost never hit a single color. Spraying a base of moss green and then merely suggesting lighter tones with the end of a brush on the upper sides of leaves gives a scene depth within a few minutes. Phthalo green suits this use as a glaze, because it lets the lower layer show through and deepens it.
This group shares phthalo green with the cold set of the same line. Before you start mixing, shake the bottle down to the last grain of pigment, otherwise the first stroke will be lighter than the one that follows.
