A gel modeling cement from the IONIC line in a 20 ml package, suitable where a liquid cement would run.
Responsibility details are not available.
Compared with a liquid cement, a gel is thick and does not run. It can therefore be applied to a vertical surface, to the underside of a part or in a place from which a liquid would immediately flow off somewhere you do not want it. The second advantage is time: a gel gives you a slightly longer moment to settle a part exactly where it belongs, which helps on larger joints and on ones that hold badly. The package holds 20 ml.
Clean and degrease the surfaces before gluing, or the joint will hold only in appearance. Apply a little: excess is squeezed out, dirties the surroundings and does more harm than good on transparent parts. Hold the parts together for a moment after joining them or fix them in place until the cement becomes tack-free. Wipe the excess away before it dries, because dried residue then has to be sanded off and that leaves a mark on a finished surface. Work in a ventilated room and close the bottle carefully after use.
Before first use, check on the packaging which materials the cement is recommended for and follow the manufacturer's instructions, including the time it takes for the joint to reach full strength. In delicate places, such as canopy glazing or finished paintwork, it is always sensible to try the cement on a scrap piece first. In the same way, think out the order of gluing in advance: a gel suits load-bearing and stressed joints, while small accessories tend to be easier to attach at the end.
The cement is supplied in the stated package. Applicators beyond the package, thinners and other materials are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
