A modeling paint from the Hataka Orange Line range, manufacturer's part number HTK-C097. The name of the shade is French and denotes ocher yellow, that is an earthy yellow tone with a brownish cast. Ochers are used in modeling in sand and desert camouflage, on wooden surfaces, on equipment and in a diorama on dry soil and dust. Compare the tone against the manufacturer's color chart or against the specification in the instructions for the kit you are building.
Stir the bottle well before work, as settled pigment will otherwise shift the resulting tone. The thinner made for this range and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the packaging; follow those instructions. Apply several thin coats instead of one heavy one and let the surface set between them; a heavy coat floods the engraving and dries unevenly. Wash and degrease the model before painting, as paint does not hold on greasy plastic.
Yellow and ocher shades have less covering power than dark colors and on a dark base they sink into a dirty tone. So even the area out with a light base coat, or count on a higher number of thin passes. Test the paint on a piece of scrap plastic in the same light in which you look at the model. Lay masking tape only onto a cured coat.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, brushes, airbrushes and kits are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
