Komar 2 is a kit for a free-flight model airplane powered by a wound rubber band that turns the propeller. It is made by Kovozavody Prostejov. The model is made up of prefabricated parts and assembly is very simple, manageable even without glue. The wingspan is roughly 310 mm and the fuselage length around 380 mm. Once it is assembled, all you need do is wind the rubber, launch the model from your hand and let it fly free.
It is a free-flight model: after launch it is not controlled remotely in any way and flies according to its balance and trim. Power comes from a rubber band connected to the propeller: once it is wound and released, the model climbs and then passes into a glide. The key to a good flight is correct balance of the center of gravity and fine trimming of the lifting surfaces.
Assemble the parts accurately and without strain, so that the wing and the tailplane sit straight and symmetrically, because the stability of the flight depends on it. Take care over correct balance (the center of gravity). Fly in calm air in open ground away from obstacles and wires. Try the first flights with a gentle launch and gradually refine the trim. Slacken the rubber before storing it for any length of time.
It is supplied unassembled, as a kit to be put together and flown. It is not a plastic collector's model meant for painting.
