Street lamps on a post, HO scale

Working street lighting from the Just Plug system by the manufacturer Woodland Scenics, in the form of a classic lamp on a post in HO scale. It is not a kit and not a dummy: the lamp has a built-in LED and a lead terminated with a plug, so once installed into the scenery it really lights up. A simple post is the most universal type of street lighting: it comes into play along sidewalks, in residential streets, in parking lots and by station ramps.

How the Just Plug system works

• A light is connected with a plug, with no soldering and no working out of resistors.
• The brightness is set centrally on the hub, so an evening scene can be dimmed as needed.
• The light is seated into the scenery through a hole in the base, through which the lead passes.
• The system is expandable; further lights and lit elements can be added gradually.

Installation

Do not lay street lamps out in a regular grid across the whole area; they look natural by sidewalks, intersections, doorways and entrances, that is, where someone would really have put them. Drill a hole in the base matching the diameter of the lead, set the post upright and run the leads under the board, marking them as you go. Finish the installation before you apply grass and scenic materials to the area; pulling a lead through finished scenery usually damages the surroundings. Deal with the connection and the power supply according to the instructions for the hub of the system; neither the hub nor the power supply is included in this package, unless stated otherwise.

Who the lights are for

For builders of layouts and dioramas in HO scale who want to light a scene without electrical knowledge, and for modelers building night or evening scenery. A simple lamp is at the same time a good basis from which lighting can be expanded.

Connect the lights only to a power supply recommended by the manufacturer of the system. Handle the leads carefully, as they are thin and mechanically delicate.
