Responsibility details are not available.
A modeling paint from the Hataka Orange Line range, listed under manufacturer code HTK-C050. Unlike shades named only in words, this one carries a directly standardized reference: FS 36495 is a number from the American Federal Standard, in which paint shades are listed under five-digit codes. The light gray of this number is among the tones known from American aircraft. The number starts with a 3, which in this standard marks the group of matte shades; the gloss level of the paint itself once dry is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Mix the bottle thoroughly before use, or settled pigment will show in the shade. The thinner made for this range and the mixing ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging — follow those instructions. Apply several thin coats instead of one thick one, and let the surface set between coats. Wash and degrease the model's surface beforehand; on a greasy base the paint pulls back, and it lifts when masking tape is removed.
Light shades reveal every imperfection in the surface underneath, so sand the surface thoroughly before spraying and check it against the light. Coverage is slower over a dark base; a light base coat helps, after which the shade needs fewer coats and no shift in tone. Pre-shading still shows through under a thin light coat, so gauge its intensity accordingly. Test a sample on a piece of scrap plastic first.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
