Luminous Yellow is a brilliant yellow listed in the RAL chart under the number 1026. It belongs to the so-called luminous shades, that is the group of colors meant to look conspicuous and catch the eye from a distance. In reality you will meet it on warning markings, on rescue and support vehicles and on features that have to be seen even in poor visibility.
The paint belongs to the Orange Line range by the manufacturer Hataka. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging and use the thinner meant for this range. A test on a piece of scrap plastic will remove the uncertainty before you touch the model.
Brilliant shades cover poorly, because their pigment is light and thin. A white base is therefore almost a must: over a dark ground the shade goes gray and loses exactly what it is used for. Apply two to three thin coats and let the surface set between them. Stir the bottle well before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Clean brushes and the airbrush right after work, while the paint is still wet; dried pigment is considerably harder to remove from a nozzle.
The shade will be used by builders of rescue, construction and airfield vehicles and by modelers who need warning stripes, markings or conspicuous areas on training aircraft.
