A medium brown with the designation Medium Brown from the Orange Line range by Hataka. The name carries two reference designations: FS30215 points into the American standardized Federal Standard chart and RLM 79b into the German specification for aircraft finishes. Brown shades of this range are used on the camouflage schemes of ground vehicles, on desert camouflage of aircraft and on equipment, boxes and cargo, where a green on its own would look monotonous.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use; settled pigment otherwise shows as uneven coverage and a shift of tone. The thinner made for this range and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the packaging; follow it when cleaning brushes and the airbrush as well. Lay the paint down in thin coats and let each one set before the next comes. A single heavy coat floods the engraving and wipes out the raised detail you have worked to keep on the model. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand, as paint holds poorly on greasy plastic.
The shade on a color chart and the shade on a finished model are not the same thing. On a small area, under varnish and in different lighting every paint looks different, so test it on a piece of scrap plastic before you touch the model. Close the bottle carefully after use and store it dry, away from frost and from direct sunlight.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
