A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the Mi-8MT helicopter. It adds thin metal elements to the model of a kind that cannot be molded in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-8 is a medium twin-engine transport helicopter, one of the most widespread machines of its class anywhere. It flew in transport, assault and armed forms, and in many countries it still serves today. The MT version is a later one with a more powerful engine installation; you can tell it among other things by the tail rotor moved to the left side of the tail boom.
Photo-etched parts are produced from thin metal sheet by chemical etching, so they have a thickness that cannot be achieved in injection-molded plastic. That is exactly why they suit grilles, buckles, grab handles, hinges, panels and other elements that are made of sheet metal on the real machine. On a helicopter model the difference shows above all in the cockpit and cargo area and on the surfaces the viewer has directly in front of them. The extent of the set, that is which particular sections it covers, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For builders who want to take a helicopter beyond the contents of the box and do not mind fine work with tweezers. Over the large surface of a model in 1:48 scale it pays off.
A set of photo-etched parts is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
