Mr.Paint MRP-A026 Tyre Rubber Matt — a Matte Tire Color (MRP Aqua Line)

A modeling paint from Slovak manufacturer Mr.Paint (MRP). The MRP Aqua line (codes MRP-A0xx) is a water-thinnable acrylic for both brush and airbrush — practically odorless, unlike MRP's standard lacquer line. The Tyre Rubber (Matt) shade is a matte rubber color: a dark gray-black tone, not a rich black. That is exactly what makes tires believable — real rubber on a model never looks like fresh lacquer.

Use

• Airbrush: the paint is ready to spray, usually without thinning. Ideal for an even matte finish over a whole tire.
• Brush: the Aqua line is also suitable for a brush — handy for small wheels, tracks, and rubber details.
• Thin and clean up with water, or with thinner for the Aqua line. Matte paints dry faster in the nozzle, so rinse the airbrush right away.
• Typical uses: aircraft, car, truck, and military vehicle tires, track rubber pads, hoses, seals, and other rubber parts.
• For a realistic effect, complement the surface with dust pigments on the sides of the tire and slightly lighter dry-brushing on the tread edges.
