NATO brown in a 17 ml bottle

A paint from AK Interactive's Real Colors range under the designation RC887, a volume of 17 ml. It is the brown component of NATO three-color camouflage, that is of the scheme made up of green, brown and black.

The real subject

In this scheme the brown is laid on over the green base and forms the second largest area. The patches have an angular outline with a hard transition and run over edges, hatches and fittings to break up the silhouette of the machine. It is the brown that shows most on a model, because it lies between the dark green and the black and separates them. In service it picks up dust faster than any of the three colors, so the difference between a fresh and a well-used machine is told mainly by it.

Working with the paint

• It is laid on as the second coat over a hardened green base.
• Hard edges to the patches are managed by a shaped mask or masking putty; a soft transition does not match the scheme.
• Shake the bottle before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Thin it with the product recommended for this range and spray thin coats.
• Trace the pattern from the instructions of the kit, as the shapes of the patches differ from machine to machine.

Who it will serve

Builders of military vehicles in any scale who do machines in NATO camouflage. For the complete scheme the green and black components are needed as well. Work in a well-ventilated room and put the bottle away closed and out of reach of children.

The package holds one bottle of paint of 17 ml. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise.
