Ochre Green - acrylic paint from AK interactive, Quick Gen Color range

Ochre Green is a green shade shifted toward ocher yellow, from the Quick Gen Color range. It is a water-thinnable acrylic for figures and gaming models. A warm green behaves differently from a cold one: over a dark ground it holds rather as a glaze and lightens gradually, while over a light ground it overrides the tone at once and reads richly.

Paint thickens in heat, but thin it back carefully

A bottle kept on a sunny windowsill or on a shelf above a radiator loses water even through a closed cap. After a few months the paint is dense, drags on the brush and leaves bristle marks in a thin coat. The remedy is simple but has to be dosed drop by drop: add a little water or acrylic thinner, close the bottle and let it stand for ten minutes, and only then stir and try a coat on a scrap part. Anyone who thins a lot at once ends up with watery paint that does not cover and runs off the edges. Thinning only makes sense for paint that has thickened through evaporation. When the mass has broken down into curdled flakes, thinning will not help.

Use

• Warm green surfaces: canvas, tent cloth, backpacks, vegetation on bases.
• A glazed transition over a darker green ground.
• Brushed on, into an airbrush after thinning.
• It mixes with the ocher and brown shades of the same range.
