Orange Brown is an acrylic modeling paint from the 3rd Generation range by AK interactive, an orange-brown rust tone thinnable with water.
Responsibility details are not available.
A bottled acrylic with a water-thinnable binder. The shade lies between orange and brown and is the classic tone of fresh corrosion, the color rust has in the places where it is only beginning and has not yet gone dark brown. Besides rust it suits terracotta and clay surfaces, brick, the rusty edges of sheet metal, autumn leaves on a diorama and richer wood.
Rust never appears as a uniform area, so do not approach it as one when painting either. This shade works best in layers: a darker red-brown base, then orange-brown patches on the edges, around the rivets and in the places where water runs down, and finally pigments and washes for texture. A combined technique with a sponge and an airbrush gives the fastest result, the sponge for uneven patches and the airbrush for a soft blur around them. Mix it with yellow for the freshest corrosion, with dark brown for older rust and with gray for dusty rust. Use it only within the acrylics of the same range.
For modelers of worn military and civilian equipment, for diorama builders and for ship builders, where rusty areas are an inseparable part of the result.
Store it in a tightly closed bottle out of the reach of children. Ventilate the room while spraying and use respiratory protection. Do not flush paint residues down the drain.
