Oxford Blue (BS105)

Oxford Blue BS105 (Mr.Paint)

A deeply dark blue shade from the Mr.Paint lacquer range, which reproduces the British standard tone Oxford Blue to British Standard 381C, item 105. It is a deep navy blue tending toward darkness, which the Royal Air Force used among other things in the colored national markings (roundels) and in lettering, and which also appears on British ground vehicles and ships. The paint is a solvent-based lacquer supplied ready to spray, with a very fine pigment, strong covering power and quick drying to a smooth, slightly matte to semi-gloss surface.

Use

• Intended for application with an airbrush; the paint is ready to spray directly and usually needs no further thinning.
• If needed, it is thinned with this brand's lacquer (cellulose) thinner, not with water or alcohol.
• It is applied in thin coats onto a cleaned and degreased surface (plastic, resin, metal), ideally over a suitable base.
• Suitable for the deep blue elements of the markings and roundels of British aircraft and for the blue on British vehicles.
• Once dry it forms a firm base for decals and for later weathering.

For modelers who work with an airbrush and lacquer paints and need the accurate dark blue Oxford Blue shade for British subjects. Mr.Paint lacquers are intended above all for spraying, not for classic brush painting.

Lacquer-based paint: flammable. Spray in a well-ventilated area and with respiratory protection (a respirator), out of the reach of children and away from open flame.
