A plywood rack for modeling paints in a light finish, sized for the bottles of the Vallejo and Citadel ranges. Dimensions 34 x 24 x 25 cm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The rack is made of birch plywood in a light shade, that is of a material that stands up better on a modeling bench than thin plastic. Wood does not bow under the weight of full bottles, does not crack around the holes and, with normal handling, lasts for years. A light surface also reflects the lamplight back onto the desktop, so no shadow forms under the rack in which caps and brushes would be hard to find.
A footprint of 34 x 24 cm and a height of 25 cm match the space a larger book takes up on a desk. That is intentional: the rack is meant to stand within reach, not to occupy half the working surface. The holes are sized for the diameter of the bottles of the two most widespread ranges, so the bottles sit without play and do not tip over if you knock the rack with your elbow.
Wipe spilled paint off before it dries, because it soaks into untreated plywood and leaves a stain. If you want peace of mind, go over the rack with a thin coat of clear varnish before first use; the wood then gets a washable surface and the light shade will not yellow over time. A hard wax serves just as well, letting the grain stand out without adding gloss.
