A book tends to be as useful during a build as a tool. It serves as support when choosing the coloring and markings, when deciding on the degree of wear and when tracking down details that a kit simplifies. It pays to look into it before you start spraying: a color profile can only be imitated once you know what the real finish looked like and what state the vehicle was in at the time.
With literature it always pays to check the language of the edition and what picture supplements the title holds. That tells you whether you will use it more as reading or as working background on the bench beside a model being built. Publications do not wear out among modelers and serve for a long time on the shelf, because the subject stays usable even years later.
For modelers who like to open printed background beside a model on the bench, and for readers interested in military history who collect literature on the subject. A model and modeling supplies do not go with the publication, unless stated otherwise.
