Paper Leaves Series - Winter 1 is paper foliage in a winter key for dioramas. A scenic material for dry, residual foliage on otherwise bare branches and for a scene at the end of the season; it is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The winter variant from the LIANG Model paper foliage range. It is neither a kit nor a finished woody plant but a scenic material for dioramas and vignettes. While the summer and autumn variants deal with a full crown, this one aims at the season when the vegetation is already spent and only the remains of dry leaves stay on the branches.
A winter scene is most often spoiled by trees being completely bare and coming across as wire armatures. In reality, though, dry leaves overwinter on oaks and beeches and fall only gradually through the winter. Sparsely sprinkled dry leaves on otherwise bare branches therefore shift a scene from the schematic to the believable at once. The second place where the material pays off is under the tree: leaves blown against a stump, against a fence or against a wall, from where the wind has not carried them away, hold a winter scene together and break up a monotonous area.
In a winter scene less is more, so apply it little by little and rather add to it. Put glue on a twig in a few spots only, not along its whole length, and lay the leaves on with tweezers. On the ground, combine the leaves with a snow effect so that some of them peep out of a drift and some are covered over; a transition is more convincing than an even scatter. Dry leaves benefit from being muted: a light gray or brown wash will unify the tone with the winter terrain. Fix it with matte varnish, as gloss would give a winter scene away.
This is a scenic accessory, not a kit. Glue, snow effects, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
