The set Park Benches from Woodland Scenics are finished park benches in HO scale (1:87) for a platform, a park and a town square on a layout.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Park Benches set belongs to the line of scenic accessories of the American brand Woodland Scenics intended for HO scale (1:87). It holds miniature park benches, finished and surface-treated, which are only placed on a layout and glued down. It is not a kit; the accessories are ready for immediate use.
A bench is a small thing that turns an open area into a place to stay. It belongs on a station platform, by a station building, in a park, on a town square, by a promenade or at a stop. Together with figures of passengers or of people out for a walk a scene arises that the viewer reads at once: somebody is waiting here, somebody is resting. It is precisely such details that decide whether a layout comes across as inhabited.
Line the benches up along a path in a regular row, but leave realistic gaps between them; in a park they tend to face the path, on a platform they run along the edge. Glue them down in spots with cyanoacrylate glue; on uneven terrain it is good to sand the seating surfaces of the feet lightly. The look can be taken further with a thin wash into the gaps between the slats and with light drybrushing on the edges. A matte varnish evens the gloss with the surroundings at the end. Shades may differ slightly between production runs.
The accessories are supplied finished and surface-treated. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
