Agama Patinator Wash WV 03 light gray is a water-based weathering wash in a light gray shade. It runs into engraved lines and recesses, where it picks out the detail without covering the base color.
Responsibility details are not available.
A wash is not an opaque paint. It is a very thin, heavily diluted glaze that is applied over a finished coat and, by capillary action, runs into the engraving, gaps and corners by itself. There it stays once dry and the surface around it is wiped clean. The result is a model with depth and readable texture, instead of looking like one uniform surface. The Agama range is water-based, which means it is thinned with water and the tools are cleaned with water, with no smell and no solvents.
Light gray is a universal shade for light camouflage. On the undersides of aircraft, on light gray ship hulls and on sand or white surfaces a classic black or brown wash is too hard, and the line then looks as if it had been drawn with a pencil. Light gray keeps the contrast subtle and convincing. On darker surfaces it works the other way round, as a light hint of dust and grime on the upper areas, on platforms and in places where fine airborne material settles. It also serves well on concrete, on white diorama elements and on small equipment, where you do not want to lose the lightness of the base color.
For modelers who want to weather without working with solvents, for beginners, whom a water base forgives mistakes, and for advanced builders as a complement to oil and enamel effects.
Keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate while working, close the bottle firmly after use and do not store it in frost.
