A sheet of dense foam six millimeters thick in A4 format, meant for carving and shaping. It does not crumble, it holds a sharp cut edge and it takes scribed texture that stays legible once finished. The A4 format is big enough for a whole wall or a continuous terrain element to come out of a single sheet with no glued joints.
It is used for rock faces, for terrain formations, for facing buildings, for paving and for diorama bases. Six millimeters is a good compromise: the sheet already carries relief with a deeper texture, and yet it can still be cut comfortably with a knife with no need to reach for a saw or a hot wire.
Cut with a sharp knife in several light passes and change the blade often. Scribe the texture with a blunt point, a wire brush or an impression of kitchen foil. Before painting, stiffen the surface with a coat of PVA glue or filler, otherwise the foam will soak up the paint and the surface will sink. Try solvent-based paints on an offcut, as they can attack the foam.
This is a material, not a finished part. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
