A very fine styrene strip with a 0.3x0.6 mm section and a length of 35 cm. In 1:87 scale it stands in for timber of a one by two inch section, and in the larger scales it serves as flat strap stock.

A section of three tenths by six tenths of a millimeter is so small that the finished piece can barely be picked up with the fingers. In inches it is eleven and twenty-two thousandths. The range this strip belongs to is derived from construction timber: in 1:87 scale this size corresponds to a board of a one by two inch section. The length of a piece is the same as with the brand's other profiles, 35 cm, and the material is white opaque polystyrene.
Railway modelers use it for trim, battens, formwork stiffeners and fine eaves strips on buildings. Outside railways, though, it has its place just as well. In the larger scales it stops being timber and becomes metal strap stock: in 1:35 it corresponds to flat iron of roughly one by two centimeters, exactly what tanks, fenders and tool boxes are strapped to vehicles with. It also serves excellently as a base beneath rivets or as a thin shim that sets a part out by a tenth of a millimeter.
Because of the small section, work on a light surface and with tweezers; a piece dropped on a carpet is practically impossible to find. Light pressure of a knife is enough to cut it, as the strip parts without snapping and without burrs. For gluing use the smallest possible amount of a liquid product applied with a fine-tipped brush, because a larger drop will ripple and deform the material. It takes paint without a primer, but because of the thin section apply only light coats, so that the detail does not disappear under a build-up.
