PS42 Translucent Yellow is a translucent yellow spray paint from the PS range by the Japanese brand Tamiya. The PS range is developed for the polycarbonate (Lexan) bodies of RC models. Those are sprayed from the inside, so the paint stays protected from abrasion, stones and sunlight and does not crack when the body flexes. The can holds 100 ml.
The word translucent is the key point with this shade: the paint does not cover, it only tints. The base shows through it and the final look is created only in combination with another coat. Used on its own it leaves the body translucent, which suits glassy effects and color transitions but not a covering base color.
The spray will be appreciated by RC modelers who want to work with translucency, tinted areas and a stained-glass effect on a body. This range is not intended for classic polystyrene plastic kits, as it is different chemistry from what ordinary modeling plastic will take.
The aerosol is flammable. Work only in a well-ventilated area or outdoors, away from open flame, with respiratory protection and with the surrounding surfaces covered. Do not expose the can to heat or direct sunlight and do not dispose of it by piercing it.
