A set of punches from the 3Detail brand for punching small hexagonal shapes out of thin material. They serve for making imitations of hexagonal nuts and bolts that bring the surface of a model to life. The material — plastic, foil, paper or photo-etched sheet — is laid into the die and an exact hexagon is punched out. Hexagonal shapes look more realistic on equipment than plain round discs and suit flange joints, bolt heads and nuts. Lay the material on a flat surface and guide the punch at right angles, so that the edges of the hexagon stay crisp and free of burrs.

The punches are sharp and are used with a mallet — work carefully and keep them out of reach of children.
