The preparation has a low initial tack and behaves much like the layer on a self-adhesive note: it keeps the stencil pressed against the surface throughout spraying, but leaves no gummy trace when removed. Paint creeping under the edge is the biggest problem with loosely laid stencils, and this preparation solves it.
Shake the contents first and apply a thin layer to the back of the stencil. Then it has to be left to dry completely, a step that is not worth hurrying: while the layer is wet, the stencil can stick permanently or leave residue on the surface of the model. Once the tack has faded after many uses, the layer can simply be renewed.
The preparation also suits places where you make stencils yourself, by cutting them from thin film for example. A single-use piece becomes an aid that can be moved from model to model, and the crisp edges of a camouflage come out the same on the first part as on the tenth.
During spraying you can lift the stencil off, check the result and lay it back in the same place without reaching for tape or having to hold it with your fingers. Your hands stay free for the airbrush and the edge of the pattern does not blur through the stencil shifting slightly between coats.
