About product

Green Stuff World Rigid Sanding Pads 400 grit

A set of firm sanding blocks from Green Stuff World. Unlike flexible pads they have a rigid core, so they keep their shape and stay flat. Both sides of the block are covered with abrasive, which extends the life and doubles the usable area. The 400 grit is among the coarser grades and is meant for fast removal of material.

Use

  • Removing parting lines, flash and sprue gate marks on plastic and resin parts alike.
  • Leveling larger flat surfaces where even pressure is needed.
  • The abrasive can be used dry or wet for a cleaner surface and less dust.
  • The firm block can be laid on the bench and the part sanded by drawing it across the face.

Who it is for

Suitable for modelers and costume makers who need a reliable tool for the initial coarser sanding and cleaning up before moving on to finer grits.

The abrasive is a working aid and is not part of any kit. When sanding wet, let the parts dry properly before gluing and finishing.

FAQ

It is a coarser grade suited to fast removal of material and to taking off parting lines and flash. For the final smoothing, move on to finer grits.

No, the rigid core cannot be cut. That is exactly why it keeps a flat shape and stays stable when sanding flat parts. For curves, flexible pads are the better choice.

Yes, the abrasive takes dry and wet sanding alike. Sanding with water limits the dust and clogs the abrasive less.
