This is neither a kit nor an accessory for a particular model, but raw material. The package contains four pieces of solid polystyrene rod three millimeters in diameter and thirty-five centimeters long. It is the same plastic that ordinary plastic kits are molded from, so it is worked in exactly the same way and bonded with the same cement. Profiles of this kind belong to the basic equipment of anyone who occasionally needs to add something to a model, replace it or make it from scratch.
The rod divides cleanly with a sharp knife: score the profile and turn it slowly, then snap it easily without flattening the end. Level the cut with a fine file or sandpaper. It is bonded with ordinary liquid cement for plastic, which softens the surface so that the joint then holds as one piece; on load-bearing spots super glue helps too. The material can be bent slightly after warming over a source of heat, but proceed carefully and in a well-ventilated room. The plastic also sprays without trouble; it is enough to degrease it and go over it with primer.
For modelers who modify, repair and add to kits, for builders of dioramas and for anyone who likes to make a missing part themselves. A stock of profiles in the drawer comes in handy sooner or later in practically every case.
Sanding creates fine plastic dust, so work in a well-ventilated room. Divide the material with a sharp knife away from your body and keep out of the reach of children.
