Rubber Black is an acrylic paint from the 3rd Generation range from AK interactive, a rubber black for tires, tracks and rubber parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A dark black shifted toward gray, intended for materials that only look black: rubber, charred surfaces, dark cables. It is not an absolute black, and that is deliberate. The paint is acrylic, it is thinned with water or with acrylic thinner of the same type and it will not take mixing with enamels or lacquer paints.
A pure black at a small scale absorbs light and the area turns into an outline with no shape, so that a tire then looks like a hole in the model. A rubber black is one step lighter and grayer, so it keeps the pattern of the tread and the shape of the sidewall. It goes on well with a brush and with an airbrush; over a dark base the tone holds at once, while over a light one it is better laid down in two thin coats so that no streaks are left. Round the effect off with a drybrush of a lighter gray along the edges of the tread and with dusting on the lower part.
Rubber never looks the same in two places: the sidewall of a tire tends to be darker and slightly glossier than a worn tread. If you pour a little paint out of the bottle and add a drop of gray or brown to it, you get a second tone for the surfaces that rub against the ground, and the wheel stops looking like a single uniform casting.
For builders of military and civil vehicles who want to set tires and rubber parts apart from metal parts painted black.
Stir before use and close the bottle after the work. Store at room temperature, protect from frost and keep out of reach of children.
