Russian Green is a bottled acrylic paint thinnable with water from the 3rd Generation range. The shade is a muted protective green of the kind carried by Soviet and Russian armored vehicles. Several shades of protective green were used over time, so check that it matches your subject against the color scheme of the kit.
A single-color model looks flat in a photograph until the green is given a difference in light. It can be done with a brush and without an airbrush: on the palette mix a drop of a light green or beige into the base shade and go over the upper surfaces with this lighter tone in thin, heavily thinned coats - hatches, fenders, the upper armor - that is the places daylight would fall on. Keep the sides closer to the base shade and darken the lower parts and the shadows by mixing in a darker green. The key is that every step has to be almost imperceptible; the effect comes only after five or six passes. Shake the bottle before each time you take paint out, so that you always start from the same tone.
For builders of armored vehicles and dioramas who work with a brush and want to give a model volume through color. It is a bottled acrylic from the 3rd Generation range; the brand also carries sprays, oils and lacquer ranges under a similar name - those are different kinds of goods and they do not thin one another.
Keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate when spraying and protect your airways. Wash brushes with water right after work.
