An accessory set of wheels for a model of the Sea King helicopter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the wheels from the kit and raises the level of detail of the landing gear.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sea King is a heavy multipurpose helicopter created for naval service that became famous above all as a search and rescue machine. It carried crew and equipment, served from a deck as well as from land, and in a number of countries it stayed in service for decades. Unlike lighter helicopters on skids it stands on wheeled landing gear, which is clearly visible on a model because the fuselage sits high above the ground.
A set of wheels in 1:48 scale that replaces the wheels supplied in the kit. On a helicopter the landing gear is more conspicuous than on an aircraft: the model stands on the ground the whole time it is in a display case, and the viewer looks at the wheels from close up and from above. How many parts the set contains and which Sea King kit it is tuned for are given in the manufacturer instructions.
The material of the parts is stated by the manufacturer, so go by that: if the parts are not polystyrene, ordinary cement for plastic models has no effect on them and you need super glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that the circular shape is kept. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the whole wheel in the tire shade and separate the hub only afterward, with a mask or with patient brushwork. Fit them at the end of the build and check that the model rests on all the wheels at once and does not rock.
This is an accessory for a kit. Paints, glue and other materials are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
