A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range in the shade Silk Grey to the RAL 7044 standard. Intended for spraying and for brushwork alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
Silk Grey is a light gray shade defined exactly by the number RAL 7044. That is precisely the strength of the RAL scale: it is not a loose description of a color but a standardized code, so the shade can be looked up years later and mixed again in the same form. Whenever the real subject has a RAL code given, you can go by it with certainty and you do not have to guess from a photograph, which is moreover distorted by the light and by the age of the film.
Light gray shades are among the most universal paints in a modeling cabinet. The finishes of vehicles and of industrial equipment carry them, they suit interiors, machinery and the elements of dioramas. At the same time they are a rewarding base for further work: on a light gray a wash, drybrushing and later toning all show well, so a whole surface can be built up on it from the base coat to the grime. In a collection of shades a light gray is therefore used up faster than many a vivid color.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, in standing paint the pigment settles at the bottom. Choose thinner and thinning ratio according to the instructions given by the manufacturer on the packaging, and use the thinner intended for this range. Spray in thin coats and let each one flash off; a single heavy coat floods the detail and the surface goes grainy. The substrate has to be clean and degreased. Clean the airbrush and the brushes after work with the product recommended for this range.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, the model and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
