Splittermuster Green Spots – Figures, an acrylic paint from AK interactive

This is a water-based acrylic modeling paint from the 3rd Generation Acrylic range. It is thinned with water or with the same manufacturer's acrylic thinner, not with a lacquer or synthetic one. The designation for figures says that the shade belongs to the part of the range that the manufacturer put together for painting figures and their gear. Splittermuster is the German name for the so-called splinter camouflage pattern, which is made up of sharply bounded fields and smaller spots. This shade represents the green component of such a pattern, that is the tone with which the green spots are painted on a uniform over the base surface.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Let the base tone of the uniform dry first, and only then paint the spots.
• Apply the spots with a fine pointed brush over small areas, in two passes with thinner paint rather than in one thick layer.
• For an airbrush thin the paint with water or an acrylic thinner; for a fine pattern a low pressure works well.
• Once the pattern is finished, even the whole out with a thin dark wash so that the spots do not look stuck on.
• Rinse the brushes with water immediately after work, as dried acrylic is hard to remove.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who paint figures in 1:35 scale and larger and want to paint multi-color camouflage patterns on uniforms. It finds a use wherever a clean green tone is needed on small areas, so on gear, tarpaulins or helmet covers as well. Working with a water-thinnable acrylic is clean and calls for no solvents.

Store the paint in a well-closed bottle out of the reach of children, and work in a reasonably ventilated room. The shade as displayed on a monitor may differ from the real thing.
