Spring Grass Mats is a finished grass mat for planting a model landscape quickly. A fine green texture recalling fresh spring grass is applied on a springy backing, so the laborious spreading and gluing of scatter layer by layer falls away. The mat is yielding and lets itself be shaped even over slightly undulating terrain, an embankment or a slope.

Against spread scatter a mat has two essential advantages: a finished area arises in a moment and the surface does not rub off, so it stands up even to an exhibition module being moved again and again. The disadvantage is a uniformity that has to be broken up with supplementary vegetation; every piece of scenery allows for that, though, because not even a real meadow has a single shade of green.

Use

• Level the base, rid it of dust and let it dry.
• Cut the mat to the shape of the area and try the seating dry.
• Glue it down with a suitable glue for grass mats and smooth it from the middle to the edges.
• Mask the edges by the track, roads and buildings with loose scatter or stone, so that the transition is not visible.
• Bring the surface to life with tufts of grass, bushes and fine scatter in different shades.

Who it is for

For layout modelers who need to cover a large area quickly and with little work, and for builders of dioramas and scenic bases for photographing models. It will also serve well as a base for children's and school projects or for covering the base under an exhibition model quickly, where only the details in the foreground are then dealt with.
