What it is

This is neither paint nor a model but scenic material: fine fibers 2 to 3 mm long with which grassy growth is created on dioramas, bases and terrain models. According to the name the package holds 200 ml. The Burnt Fields shade refers to burnt and parched fields, that is to darker dry vegetation; it suits scenes after the harvest, summer drought and areas marked by fire.

Use

• first coat the area with grass glue or thinned PVA glue
• apply the fibers with an electrostatic applicator so that they stand upright; without one they lie down and the area looks flatter
• work in smaller sections, so that the glue does not dry in the meantime
• once dry, knock the excess off or vacuum it up carefully and use it again
• combine lengths and shades, because a uniform area of one grass looks artificial
• you can fine-tune the result with a light mist of paint or with a dry brush

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas and scenic bases who want to put terrain together from several shades instead of one green area. Short fibers of 2 to 3 mm serve as the basic low growth, into which longer fibers, tufts and bushes are then set. A dry tone is practical as a transition between a path and greenery too, where the vegetation is always the most trampled and parched.

The volume of the package follows from the name of the product. Keep the fibers dry and out of reach of children; static grass is easily stirred up once poured out, so do not work with it in a draft.
