Masking stripes 0.6 mm on a 135x90 mm sheet are a universal template of Oramask masking film, intended for spraying thin lines, stripes and sharp demarcation edges.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a kit nor a mask tailored to a particular model, but a universal modeling aid. The Omask sheet measuring 135x90 mm is cut from Oramask masking film and carries stripes 0.6 mm wide. The individual stripes are lifted off the carrier one at a time and stuck straight onto the dried paint of a model.
A really thin straight line sprayed freehand is practically impossible to do cleanly, and tape broken into segments ripples on a curve. A stripe of film solves the problem in two ways: either you use it to cover a band of base color that is to stay visible on the finished model, or you assemble several stripes into the outline of an area you want to spray over. That is typically how demarcation edges of camouflage, thin borders around doors and covers, anti-slip strips, outline lines on a body or narrow bands of markings come about, which would otherwise have to be rescued by a decal.
The base must be perfectly dry and sound; with freshly sprayed paint it pays to let it harden longer than seems necessary. Press the stripe down along its whole length, especially carefully at both ends, where paint most often seeps under. Spray several very thin coats perpendicular to the edge of the mask, not along it. Lift the mask while the new paint has only just dried, pulling it back over itself at a sharp angle. Return the unused remainder of the sheet to its original carrier and store it away from dust and direct light, as the film keeps its tack for a long time.
This is a modeling aid, not a model. Paints, varnish and tools are not included in the package.
