Summer Green Weeds is a scenic foliage by Woodland. It is intended for creating low weed growth in a summer green key. It is not a kit but a medium with which vegetation is built up on finished terrain.

Vegetation is built in layers, not all at once

The most common mistake with vegetation scenes is trying to make the growth in one application. The result is flat and all the blades end at the same height, which you will not find in nature. Credible growth arises gradually: first the color of the soil underneath, over it a low base layer, then denser islands and finally individual taller elements that rise out of the growth. Each layer is left to be fixed before the next one comes, otherwise the lower layer is torn away during application.

A procedure that has proved itself

• Work from the bottom up and let the layers dry thoroughly.
• Grade the density. Continuous growth belongs at the edges, and it reaches into paved areas and tracks only sparsely.
• Foliage is usually fixed with thinned PVA glue or with a scenic fixative applied from above with an atomizer.
• Combine several shades of green. A single tone always gives growth away.
• Finished growth can be refined by tapping the board lightly so that unattached particles come free.
