This is equipment for the modeling bench. According to the name it is a flat plate with a raised part in the shape of the letter T, held in the hand and worked against the surface of a model. Check the dimensions, the material and the grit on the box.
What the shape is good for
The T shape gives the aid two working parts of different widths. With the wider face you level a larger surface and keep it flat, while with the narrowed projection you reach places where a wide plate would run into the surrounding detail: a wing root, the corner of a superstructure, between riveted strips or at the edge of a hatch. These are exactly the places where neighboring detail most often gets damaged during sanding, because the modeler presses paper over a finger and cannot see how far the abrasive reaches.
It suits anyone who builds models with a broken-up surface, that is, vehicles with tools and brackets on the hull, ship superstructures or aircraft with raised panels. It is an addition to sanding equipment that deals with exactly the places where other sanding sticks stop.
Do not inhale the sanding dust from plastic, and keep checking the surface against the light so that you can tell when the joint is really level. Choose a moderate pressure, otherwise you will create a hollow yourself that you will have to fill again.
