Tamiya TS-40 Metallic Black is a synthetic lacquer spray from Tamiya in the metallic black shade. It is not a kit but a spray paint ready for immediate use: just take the cap off and spray. The lacquer dries quickly and suits larger surfaces in particular, where spraying is faster and more even than applying paint with a brush. The metallic shade contains fine metal particles that give the surface its characteristic sheen. The can has a volume of 100 ml.

Use

• Shake the spray thoroughly before use and during the work, so that the pigment and the metal particles are mixed evenly.
• Apply the paint by spraying from a distance of about 25–30 cm from the surface, with smooth passes.
• Apply several thin coats rather than one heavy one: that avoids runs and preserves the fine structure of the metallic shade.
• It holds best on plastic or on a surface treated with a base coat (primer); once dry, the details can be painted in with acrylic or enamel paints.
