The darker green Lifecolor Medium Green 42 FS34092 aims at fighting compartments and the space under closed hatches, where the main concern is that it should not drop into black in the gloom.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fighting compartment of an armored vehicle, the inside of a bomber fuselage and the space under a hatch have one thing in common: light gets into them only through a slot. Darker green shades act considerably gloomier there than on a test sample, and without further work they turn into one uniform dark hole. A shade with a reference to the Federal Standard in its name belongs in exactly this category, and it stands or falls by how you light it.
Lay the base over the whole interior and decide at once where light falls into the space from — usually through an open hatch or glazing. Then lighten the areas closer to the opening by mixing in a lighter tone and leave the floor and the corners at their original depth. A transition forms that the eye reads as space. Only then come the details: instruments, wiring, straps and equipment, which have to stand off the green background in color, or they will be lost.
For modelers who do not deal with an interior by a perfunctory base coat alone but want it legible even through a small opening. The standard number in the name helps place the shade among the other camouflage green tones.
Store out of the reach of children. Ventilate while working and avoid contact with the eyes.
