The lighter khaki Soviet Army 4BG Light Khaki FS34257 from Lifecolor follows a simple rule: the color of dust is set by the terrain, not by the machine.
Responsibility details are not available.
Every setting has a dust color of its own and the machine merely takes it over. Plowed fields leave a dark brown-gray layer, a limestone track a white one, brick rubble a pinkish one and the steppe a parched yellow. This lighter khaki shade, whose name refers to the American Federal Standard FS34257, suits exactly where the soiling is meant to be dry and light, and it serves both as a base tone and as the material for dusting other surfaces.
Before you start dirtying, settle on the scene. One model should have dust of one origin, because a machine does not move through three landscapes at once. Once the shade of the dust is set, keep it over the whole surface and vary only its quantity, not its color. That is the quickest way to achieve the impression that the model has arrived from somewhere, rather than that it was dirtied step by step with several different techniques.
For modelers who build vehicles into a particular landscape and want their dust unified in color. It also serves well in dioramas where the same setting is meant to be evident on the machine and on the terrain alike.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, ensure ventilation when spraying and protect your airways and eyes.
