The sandy yellow position of Italian camouflage schemes is represented in the Lifecolor acrylic range by the paint Regia Aeronautica Giallo Mimetico 16.

The light sandy yellow Regia Aeronautica Giallo Mimetico 16 belongs to the shades the Regia Aeronautica used as a camouflage ground. The Italian giallo mimetico means literally camouflage yellow, and the name captures well what it was about: a warm, faintly greenish yellow that blended with the ground over the parched Mediterranean and African landscape better than a classic green.
Whereas American aviation handled camouflage with a pair of olive and gray, Italian machines were often painted all over in a light warm tone and only then came the drawing in darker colors. The light ground therefore carries the largest part of the surface and its shade decides the overall impression of a model more than the blotches themselves. The number in the name belongs to the period Italian naming of the shade; it is not a figure from an American or a European standard and is not converted in any way.
The paint will be used by modelers of Italian aircraft, but also by everyone looking for a warm sandy yellow for desert subjects in general. Because it lies between yellow and earthy brown, it goes well with the darker shades of the same group and makes it possible to build transitions without needlessly hard boundaries.
Store the paint in a well-closed container out of the reach of children and ventilate while working.
