The cool gray tone Aegean Ghost Grey FS 36251 Satin from Lifecolor is a water-based acrylic paint with a satin, that is, semi-gloss surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
A neutral medium gray with the number of the American Federal Standard in the name belongs to the group of shades named after the Aegean Sea. The surface is satin, as the name itself states, and the binder acrylic, water-based.
The low-visibility finishes of modern aircraft rest on two or three grays that differ from one another by only a little. That is exactly why it pays to have the shades from one workshop: the difference between them will stay precisely what the maker intended, and the scheme will not start to look random. A medium gray tends to be the load-bearing area of such a set, the one the other tones follow on from, so it is usually what gets used up most. It is also where the way of applying shows up most: an even base and a fine lightening in the centers of panels will give a model depth without the scheme ceasing to be believable. Gray areas also take fine toning into panel lines and small cutouts well.
It will be reached for by a modeler of modern aircraft who wants the gray palette matched and does not want to mix it afresh every time. It is applied with the brush and the airbrush alike.
Keep it out of the reach of children, work in a ventilated room and stir the contents before use.
