The warm reddish reflection that metal catches from the surrounding light is brought by the acrylic paint Lifecolor Gun Red Reflection for finishing off weapons and small hardware.

Metal has no color of its own, it only reflects what is around it. A weapon carried in the warmth of a setting sun, by a fire or in an interior with wooden paneling catches warm, slightly reddish tones in its reflections. The acrylic shade Lifecolor Gun Red Reflection is for precisely this position: it is an accentuation on a finished metal surface, not the color of the whole weapon.
A warm reflection always has a smaller area on metal than the metal itself, or the surface turns into copper. It is applied with the tip of a brush along the edges, or with a dry brush with a minimum of paint, so that it stays only on the highest points of the relief. An effective trick is to combine it with the cool position of the reflection on the opposite side of a part: the metal then looks as if it were reflecting two different lights.
It will be appreciated mainly by painters of figures and busts who work with the light atmosphere of a scene, and by collectors who care that armament should not look like a gray blot. With the sister shades of the same group it forms a trio with which a metal surface can be graded from cool through neutral to warm.
Store the paint out of the reach of children, ventilate while working and close the container after use.
