The brass of a freshly made cartridge case has a different tone from a piece that has lain in a crate for years, and New Shell Brass Shade 1 from the Lifecolor acrylic range is aimed at precisely that.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Lifecolor shade from the group of brass tones for unused ammunition. It carries the designation Shade 1 in its name, because further numbered steps exist alongside it in the range; the point is that one batch of cartridge cases can be painted in several close shades and will not look as if cast from one piece.
What it is used for
How to achieve a believable batch of ammunition
The best result comes from a procedure in which all the pieces are first unified with one brass base and only then randomly chosen pieces are gone over with a further shade from the group. The differences need not be large; the eye perceives them even at a minimal shift. At the end a dark wash helps, accentuating the edge of the base and the rim of the mouth, and a dry brush one shade lighter over the most exposed places.
The shade is applied with the brush and the airbrush alike. Stir the paint thoroughly before work, so that the tone is the same across the whole batch of parts.
For modelers of military vehicles, diorama makers and everyone who deals with small metal details where brass is meant to look fresh and new.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated area.
