A thin oil from the Hob-E-Lube line for lubricating the moving parts of models and model railroads. It is dosed drop by drop.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ultra-Lite designation says that this is the thinnest grade of lubrication in the Hob-E-Lube line. A thin oil suits anywhere parts move fast and with little resistance: axle bearings, pivots, small shafts, small jointed connections and mechanisms that a thicker lubricant would needlessly slow down. For slow-turning gears and gearwheels, on the other hand, the thicker products of the same line are used.
Apply a single drop at a time and rather less than more. A surplus spreads, catches dust and on running surfaces worsens traction. Before lubricating, clean the mechanism of old lubricant and dirt, place the drop directly at the point of contact and wipe off whatever is left beside it at once. After lubricating, let the mechanism run idle a while, so that the oil spreads. Whether the plastic and rubber parts of your model will take the product is something to check against the manufacturer's details on the packaging.
It comes into its own with model railroads, with self-powered models and equally with static models that have moving parts, where quiet and smooth running is needed. Anyone who displays a model rather than runs it will get by with one lubrication after cleaning; anyone who runs it regularly does better to clean the mechanism out now and then than to add more lubricant on top of the old.
Models, tools and other modeling chemicals are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
