Na lodě. IJN je zkratka japonského císařského námořnictva a tento odstín je lodní šeď pro trupy a nástavby japonských válečných lodí. Pro spodní plochy japonských námořních letounů se používá jiný odstín, XF-12 J.N. Grey — nezaměňujte je.

K arzenálu Yokosuka. Japonské námořní arzenály si šedě míchaly podle vlastních receptur, takže se odstíny mírně lišily. Tamiya proto nabízí několik různých IJN šedí podle jednotlivých arzenálů — vybírejte podle toho, kde byla vaše loď postavena či dokována.

Ředidlem X-20A, které je určeno pro akrylové barvy. Pozor na záměnu s ředidlem X-20 bez písmene A, které je pro emailové barvy. Tamiya vede stejná čísla odstínů v akrylové i emailové řadě, takže je vždy dobré si ověřit, kterou řadu držíte v ruce.

U Tamiyi značí X lesklou řadu a XF řadu matnou. XF-91 je tedy matný odstín, což je pro lodní model výhodné — matný povrch je ideální podklad pro washe, suché štětcování a patinu.
